The World Health Summit is the annual conference of the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academies. Through the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) for Health, it is organized in collaboration with national academies of science in 97 countries.

The World Health Summit aims to improve health all over the planet, catalyzing that process through collaboration and open dialogue, and steering tomorrows agenda to improve research, education, healthcare, and policy outcomes.

    We are pleased to announce the 6th International Conference on Biotechnology and Bioengineering combined with 2017 International Conference on Advances in Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering will be held during September 26-28, 2017 in Offenburg, Germany.

    Aims and Scope

    The main objective of this conference is to bring people together from diverse disciplines to review progress and to exchange ideas in all aspects of biotechnology and bioengineering, with topics ranging from New Approaches and Concepts in Biotechnology; Cell & Cancer Immunology; Genomics and Molecular Biology; Enzyme and Protein Engineering; Biomedicine & Pharmaceutical Biotechnology; Bioinformatics and Systems Biology; Biomedical engineering, Biomedical techniques & technologies and other related aspects. The conference is therefore purposely broad to cover all aspects of biotechnology and bioengineering, a unique combination that is highly appreciated by the participants.

    Why attend
    The conference is designed to promote interactive discussions at both the talks and poster sessions, and will feature a mix of invited speakers drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and will bring together international basic, translational and clinical scientists and physicians from academics to industry. Given the excellent line up of speakers and the meetings outstanding reputation, this is a must attend for anyone interested in cutting edge research in biotechnology and bioengineering.

    After peer review and author's intention, selected papers will be considered for publishing in international journal with ISSN and DOI, and will be submitted to major databases for index.

    After the conference, there will be the "Ortenau Wine Festival" in Offenburg on Sep. 29. Moreover, if participants prefer, we will organize activities for academic investigation to Strasbourg, France; and/or visiting the European Molecular Biology Laboratory-Heidelberg ,etc.

    WHS Startup Track 2017 Welcomes Applications

    International Pitch for Startups in Healthcare at the World Health Summit in Berlin

    How is healthcare going to change? What ideas, devices and therapies represent the future of the field? International health startups are encouraged to apply for the WHS Startup Track 2017.

    German Federal Minister of Health Hermann Gröhe is the WHS Startup Tracks high patron. He will present awards to the winners on October 16.

    From among all applicants, representatives from 25 startups will be invited to attend the World Health Summit 2017 in Berlin (October 15-17). 10 finalists will subsequently pitch their concepts to the jury and international WHS audience from science, politics, the private sector, and civil society on October 16.

    On this day, life science startups looking for seed and Series A financing present in front of venture capitalists (such as Gilde Healthcare, Vesalius Biocapital, Creathor, and HTGF), corporates (such as Philips and B. Braun), family offices, and business angels. In addition, these startups will have the opportunity to learn from investors and entrepreneurs about the lessons learnt in running a company (dos and donts) in a startup workshop preceding the pitches.

    Alfred Goldberg from the Harvard Medical School will give a keynote lecture on proteasome regulation, with a focus on connecting our understanding of mechanisms to disease therapies.
